My artwork is currently hangin’ out at my local library! Last summer I saw an invitation for local artists to submit artwork for consideration to be displayed. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try, especially since I haven’t done anything like this before.

I emailed some samples and got a request to meet with library staff last August. I dusted off my portfolio case, filled it with some of my favorite pieces from my 2-years of creating every day and headed over to the Algonquin Public Library.

The gist is that they have two walls available for an artist’s artwork to be displayed for an entire month. They are open to a variety of types of artwork, as long as it can hang on a wall and doesn’t have any profanity or explicit content. #noFbombs

The staff I met with was really excited about my work and we set my month as February because I suggested that I use one of the walls to display all of my Reel World Valentines. I even put together a QRcode so people could use their phone to scan it and get access to the FREE download right there. #userfriendly

In total, I put together 27 pieces, which is the largest display I’ve ever done. It was quite a process choosing the artwork, deciding the sizes and getting frames. SIDENOTE: Frames can be SO expensive, but thanks to a variety of thrift stores I was able to get 27 frames for under $50, then just gave them a DIY makeover (aka. sanding & painting) and voila I had spiffy looking frames for all of my art.

Since I hadn’t really done anything like this before I ended up taping off the size of the wall on my floor at home so that I could see how the pieces would look together. I’m sure that’s how Picasso got his stuff pulled together as well.

Of course, there were some snafus along the way. For example, it didn’t occur to me that the hook on some of the frames would be too small to fit the hanger the library provided. Fortunately, Dean was on his A-game and came up with a quick and effective solution (use wire to make a larger loop). #DeanRocks

It was super exciting to print my artwork in larger formats and to pull together a variety of pieces as a collection. For any locals, it will still be up for another couple of weeks if you wanna see it yourself at the Algonquin Public Library — Main Branch (2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, IL 60102).

I’ve had another audiobook released on Audible! It’s a fiction title called “Inherent Truth: Blood Secrets Book 1. Here’s the synopsis:

A woman with buried secrets. An agent with an impossible mission. An inheritance that will destroy them both. When Liv Sullivan’s dead grandmother beckons for help from beyond the grave, the reluctant psychic returns to her small Ohio hometown. Scrambling to make sense of the clues left by the vision, Liv finds herself face-to-face with undercover agent Ridge McCaffrey. Assigned to protect a woman — whose gifts unnerve him — for a covert psychic intelligence operation he doesn’t understand, Ridge struggles to place duty over desire. But when a gruesome discovery is unearthed at Sullivan Farm, the truth becomes clear. Some family secrets are best left buried. #whoa

It was a super fun book to read and the author has already told me she has 2 more books in the works. The really exciting part is that I have a handful of FREE Promo Codes that you can redeem to get a download of the book at no cost.

The cool thing about the promo codes is that Audible gives both the narrator and the author these FREE Promo Codes for us to distribute to our audience, but they still count as audiobook sales. #cha-ching

Of course I want to give them ALL away because otherwise they just sit in my email never fulfilling their Promo Code purpose. #sosad That’s why I’m super-duper happy that I can drop in your inbox to let you know; otherwise I think I would resort to standing on a street corner shouting the codes, which I don’t think would really be good for anyone.

So if you are someone who digs listening to audiobooks, send me a message. If you are someone who doesn’t really listen to audiobooks, but the thought of a FREE DOWNLOAD is just too good to pass up, send me a message. Or if you have no interest in listening to audiobooks, but just want to let me know Whaz’up, send me a message.

If you do get a Promo Code my only ask is that you to leave a review on Audible since that helps boost the visibility of the title.

Thanks again for all of the support and responses. I really love hearing back from you, so don’t be stranger.
