Never Say Never

If you have seen my recent lettering posts on social media you know Dean & I are in final rehearsals for a play we have both been cast in which opens this Friday. It has been quite a journey getting to this point.

Some of you may know that Dean & I first met when we were cast as husband and wife in a show. #foreshadowing In that show Dean’s character is responsible for my character’s untimely death. Since next month we celebrate our 26th year into this marriage gig I’m gonna go on record as saying that Dean is NOT doing a long con and I don’t need to be checking the breaks on my car any time soon. #RIPRuthCondomine

What I want to share this week is that it’s never too late to try something new or revisit an old passion. I literally have not done a stage play for 29 years. Sure, I’ve been involved in drama groups over the years, and I’m not just referring to parenting teenagers. Even though this was how Dean & I met, we have NEVER done a play together SINCE we’ve been married. #life

There have been moments in this show that have stretched me in a number of ways, but it certainly has been an opportunity to see if I still enjoy it.

SIDENOTE: This play, Noises Off, was a show that I performed in high school and it just so happened that I got cast in the exact same part. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would have a second chance at a part that I played over 30 years ago. #neversaynever

For any of you who are local and have interest in seeing all the nonsense that we have been up to the show is at the Woodstock Opera House for the next 3 weekends. www.woodstockoperahouse.com QUICK SIDENOTE: The Woodstock Opera House is located in a quaint town square where the movie Groundhog Day was filmed.

You’ve gotta be vaxxed and masked for the show, but if you do come please stick around and say hi. I’d love to see ya.
