Looks Like This Is Becoming “A Thing”

You know those moments when things just click? Ideas or actions come together and it is clear you are in the right place.

Well friends, I am in such a moment. I’m getting some much needed clarity and finding new ways to apply my skills to move this bus forward. #Hallelujah

Last Saturday I did my first ever Facebook Live. If you haven’t had a chance to see it, either because the all-mighty algorithm took you elsewhere or FB isn’t really your jam, I’ll include it here for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s a few things I want you to know about what proceeded going live:

1. I spent hours that morning trying to figure out how to light my video so that I didn’t have a massive glare on my glasses. After which I discovered my family was not going to be around, so I could set up in a part of the house with natural lighting. #muchbetter
2. Initially I was going to do both Facebook Live and Instagram Live simultaneously, but I couldn’t get Instagram to go Live on my iPad, so I dropped that idea and went with just FB.
3. I was so focused on HOW to go Live, I didn’t even know what I was going to talk about until just a few moments before I started. I forced myself to write a simple outline of what value I would bring, what products I would share and what’s my CTA. For my local friends that means “Call To Action” NOT Chicago Transit Authority.

After all of that nonsense, I sat my butt in front of the camera, pressed the “Go Live” button and let the chips fall where they may.

Considering that I not only survived, but actually felt quite proud of myself for facing that unknown and since the response has been so positive, I’ve decided to do this weekly for the month of December. So if you’ve ever read or listened to my blog and wished you could immediately share your thoughts or ask a question, then this is the moment you’ve been waiting for.

For the next 5 Fridays I will go Live on Facebook at 3pm CST. If I can appease the “Tech Gods,” I’ll add Instagram Live as well.

Since you are my peeps I wanted to ask if there is something you’d like to hear me talk about, just hit that reply button and let ‘er rip. Otherwise, I’ll sift through my archive of topics to find some goodies and then just wing it.

Not exactly sure where this will go, but it IS clear to me it’s the next right thing to do.

Which brings me back to you. Is there anything in your life right now that you are thinking of trying/learning/exploring, but are hesitant to pull the trigger because you don’t entirely know where it will lead?

While nothing is a guarantee, I can safely say that nothing will happen if you don’t ever try. But if you take that step maybe it becomes a new hobby or leads to other opportunities. Or maybe the experience of doing it will just increase your confidence and help you see what a badass you really are.

However, you’ll never know any of that until you sit down and actually do the thing. And for my friends in the cheap seats, “No, just thinking about it doesn’t count.” #toughlove
