Gonna keep it short and sweet this week as our mistletoes are deep into hustling and bustling to complete our holiday to-do list. I will NOT be checking this list twice. We do what we can over the next few days and then let the jingle bells fall where they may.
However, I just had to give a thanks to all you awesome people who sent in ideas for our Christmas card. It has me wondering why I have been slaving all these years to come up with ideas, when you fine folks are clearly a fount of brilliant (and a few twisted) ideas.
This next week we will be rolling out a version of one of your lovely ideas. There were a few contenders in the running and oddly enough some of you had the exact same idea. #bigmagicmoment
SIDENOTE: If you have never read Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Big Magic” where she talks about ideas as disembodied energetic life-forms that roam the planet looking for a human partner to collaborate with then they may not make sense. But if that sounds intriguing, I highly recommend following that curiosity and check it out.
You can be sure we will be documenting the process of creating our card and will share all the silliness on next week’s post. Unless of course you happen to be driving through our neighborhood and see the “magic” firsthand.
For those who are keeping track, you may have noted that these cards are not making it into the mail until after Christmas, but I believe the saying goes:
“Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and very elaborate Holiday cards.”
