Congress is a Woman’s Place… Math Death!!

Welcome to the next installment of our “50 Shirts Going to D.C.” saga. A big thank you to all of you who have been messaging and sharing the love on these posts. While I have been enjoying seeing this idea becoming a reality, it’s even more exciting to hear that you are enjoying the ongoing story.

If I was to categorize today’s post, it’s all about the numbers. I believe a sizable portion of the population has no interest in the nitty-gritty of numbers; however, I do know that some of you really geek out on this stuff. So, in honor of the “number-nerds” (trademark pending), we are going to look at how the shirts are being divvied up.

For those who already started to tune out cuz, you know,  numbers aren’t your thang, don’t you worry, I’m going to include some pretty graphics. (oh yeah, I’m a clever girl.)

So the total number of shirts we are shipping is 50. We first needed to decide how to break that up between the House and Senate because we wanted to send some to both.

We thought the best place to start was to look at the percentages of women in each House. Here’s what we found:

In addition to considering the percentages of women in each house, we also wanted to distribute between the two parties. So taking each group the breakdown between the two parties went like this:

After looking at this I just gotta ask “Where are all my conservative sistas at??” I’ll take victories where we can, but I do want to say that we need you ladies on both sides of the aisle.

There is more to come regarding who’s who in getting these shirts, but for now let’s continue with the next video of me prepping these shirts. If you thought watching me take them out of the box was a cliff-hanger, just wait until you see the thrills and chills in store for you today. (so exciting!!)

In keeping with the numbers theme of this post, you’ll be happy to know that counting AND math are both a part of today’s video. Enjoy!
