Christmas Bonus!

Who doesn’t love a bonus? I was recently running some errands and while I was in one store a message came over the speaker that they would be giving BONUS BAGS out to the first 50 customers who came to a specific display in the store.

It gave me a glimpse into what the California Gold Rush of 1850 must have looked like, as people dropped whatever they were doing to flock to the designated display to get their BONUS BAG. (we would sadly learn that it was just a bag of samples for products that I don’t think sell very well)

However, even outcomes like that wouldn’t stop my Pavlovian response the next time something is identified as a FREE BONUS. (it’s no wonder that I work on marketing campaigns, cuz I apply all of the things that would stop me in my tracks.)

I got to thinking about bonuses this week because I am aware of what an unexpected gift it has been to build this relationship with you, the kind souls who have agreed to be part of my audience.

I’ve said it before, without you I’m just a caffeinated-artist monologuing into the void of the internet (and you know that’s not a story that ever ends well).

However, as with all relationships, having two-way communication makes a huge difference. Which is why I appreciate each time one of you takes the time to share an idea, observation, or give feedback.

I believe having input from different perspectives has the potential to make an idea even better. (yes, “plays well with others” is a comment I regularly got on my report card.)

This was absolutely the case when one of you had a great suggestion to supplement my “You BUY ONE, I SHIP ONE” idea. (Way to go Jerry!)

The original concept was to celebrate the historic number of women elected to government in the recent Congressional election For each “A Women’s Place Is In The House And The Senate” shirt sold between now and January 3, 2019, I would send a second shirt to a congresswoman.

It was pointed out to me that someone may want to show support for this idea, but isn’t really in the market for another shirt. So how about providing the option to pay for one shirt, and then BOTH shirts get sent to TWO different Congresswomen. Brilliant!

Of course, you can still buy one for yourself, but if you just want to get more of these shirts to Congresswomen and celebrate this milestone, this is one more option to consider.

Thanks so much for Jerry Frank for speaking up and helping me improve on my original idea. (the fact that he is also my dad had no bearing on my decision to implement the idea. I was raised to be fair and recognize a good idea when I see one —  Thanks, Dad!)

There will be much more to come when I’m ready to ship the shirts and communicating any responses I may get from those female leaders. Thanks to everyone who has already participated in this.
