All of Us
Day 599
Been reading some Brené Brown lately. If you aren’t familiar with this gal, do yourself a favor and check out her books, TED talks, website, etc. Her teaching on shame & vulnerability can be a game changer.
Today’s post came out of an article she wrote on how some of us are willing to extend a hand to help, but reluctant to ask for help. (Guilty!) And how we divide the world into “those who offer help” and “those who need help”, but the truth is we are both. (Ba-blam!)
Of course, this artwork led to an extensive conversation between Dean & I about whether or not this is an accurate Venn diagram. His point was that “all of us” would be a circle around both circles.
To which I said that would miss the point that some people set up their life to only offer help and others who only need help. However, I conceded that in the truest sense, this Venn diagram may not be entirely accurate, but I believe that it still makes the point. (You can imagine how long it can take us to get things done once we get going on a topic)
